Potty training advice please

My LO is 2.5 and we have just finished day 3 of potty training. But I have a few questions!

He's doing great, only 2 accidents on day 3 but the rest all in the potty, sometimes unprompted! The potty is currently in the lounge on a mat. And he has been bare bottomed most of the time. Nappies at night still.

However my questions:

  1. He wees little and often! Like when he goes he does a little, then 5 mins later a little more, etc. I'm guessing this is normal, but when can I expect him to hold longer and then do a proper wee rather than lots of little ones? He can and does go longer in between sometimes (1-2 hours) but when he does need to go he does a little at a time! Does this take a while; or do they normally figure it out quickly? (I know all children are different)
  1. I put loose trousers on him this afternoon and explained pulling them up/down, but every time he has sat on the potty since, he's forgotten to pull them down and just sat with them on and then they get wet! I keep reminding him he needs to pull them down first. Any tips how I can help him remember?
  1. When did you move your potty from the lounge to the bathroom?
  1. What did you do when out and about? Did you have a travel potty, or hold them over a public toilet? Toddler toilet seat you took around? Not sure what's best so after opinions.
