Dry overnight

Not exactly potty training but looking for advice. DS2 will be 5 in August and still isn't dry overnight. He is still in pull ups to save washing the bed every single night. We always get him to go to the toilet before bed and limit drinks in the hour or so before bed (not so much in the hot weather) but he just doesn't seem to wake up when he needs to pee overnight.
His brother was dry overnight naturally about 3 months after he potty trained so I never had to really actively try anything. Any suggestions on what I can do to help? I'd love for him to be out of them before he starts school in August. Can't wait to ditch the nappies/pull-ups for good!

I feel your pain, my DS only just became dry and he turned 6 in Feb,

I dont think you can train them to be dry overnight, a hormone has to develop and switch on and this will literally happen overnight I feel.

Search "mattress protector" on Amazon they are huge about covers half/ three quarters of a single bed length and place it under the bedsheet. Its summer wont be hard to wash them and dry, they are brilliant.

I know people say don't give them anything to drink before bed but it just did not sit right with us as my kids constantly wake through the night to drink water.

All I am saying is be patient, it will happen. In the meantime for your sanity get the "washable bed protector" - you can put them in washing machine and tumble dry on low

Try not to stress yourself about school. Some kids at DS school were dry at night and day and some were only dry at day times. Anyway, not being dry at night is not going to affect their time at school is it 🤷🏽‍♀️

Be patient :)
