Is my almost 3 year old not ready?

My DD is 3 in July. I've been gently trying to coax her to use the potty or toilet but she's not having it. She will sit on her potty and pretend but she won't actually pee or poop. This week I've tried some nappy free time and bought her some pants to wear which she loves but she keeps having accidents and getting upset when she pees herself. She understands that she needs to sit on the potty for this but she won't do it unless she's pretending. Is she still not ready for potty training?

I'd say she wasn't ready. I'd still sit her on it though.

We put DS on it twice a day, once in the morning and let him watch a bit if CBeebies and then when his bath was being run I'd stick him on it with a boom to look at.

Didn't mention wee or poo to him but did make a huge fuss if he had done anything in there.

I think it helped because once we did start he was associating weeding and pooing on the potty with a praise.

Similar situation here. When are they ready?! I feel so bad that at almost three I've not cracked it!

Hello, my daughter is three in June and we have been using a sticker chart, firstly for just sitting on the potty and now only if she does something on it. I think it will come when she’s ready, pull up nappies are a lot easier and we bought a toilet seat as she prefers that to a potty. But she still doesn’t seem to have a strong signal to need the toilet yet. I think don’t worry too much, they will learn soon and their friends will encourage them at nursery too.😊
