A week in and now holding wees for 5 hours?!

Little girl was potty training since last Sunday (you may have seen my thread about giving me messages of solidarity as day 1 and 2 were so bad 😂) but then since day 3 has been dry.

However for the last two days she has only done 3 wees between 8am-7pm; she's gone up to 5 hours before weeing. Is this a normal regression? I've put her on the potty so many times but nothing comes out!

I recall my daughter doing the same early on in potty training, even months later she would hold it in for hours! Still does at 6 but haven't run into any issues because of it.

I'm just worried she will get a water infection; good to know others seem to have gotten through it ok!

Yes my DTs both did this early on after potty training.

miniworry · 07/05/2023 19:05

@Kentlassie did they grow out of it? Any tips to make them go??

Mine did this! I was worried about it but it was short lived, just needed encouragement to keep going and he doesn't do it anymore.

Mine did this - and still does a year and a half later. Wees maybe 3 or 4 times a day, dry at night.

No issues arising, must just be part camel?

Fruit Shoots are the only thing we've found that she drinks enough of in one go to immediately prompt her to go to the toilet.

We try not to make it a battle, but it's very weird!
