Toilet steps or just insert?

We're gearing up for potty training and a friend recommended those steps with a toilet seat insert rather than just an insert and a movable step. Any experience or advice? Our daughter is quite small (25th percentile) so we'll definitely need help sitting on the toilet.

Personally I think separate is better because the step can then be used to reach the sink for hand washing too. Good luck!
