Holding in wee

We're on day 5 of potty training and following the Oh Crap! method for the most part.

It's been going well and DD (2.5) has done most wees on the potty since day 3, with prompting. She's said wee wee a few times before needing to go too and likes to say bye to her wee once she's been. This morning however, she held in a wee for 6 hours. She's just been on the potty and there isn't much, despite her having a few decent drinks so far.

Any advice?

Refer to the section in Oh Crap on camels! Some kids just do this. It isn’t necessarily a problem, it’s just tricky with training because there’s only like 2 opportunities a day to get a success! My DD is like that, she’s 5 now, never had a UTI or anything, never been dehydrated, pee is normal colour, can just hold it for ages.

Offer a sticker for the potty for every wee, not entirely hygienic but seems to work.

My DS could do this. He preferred playing to weeing. My only suggestion is stickers or chocolate buttons - 1 per wee.
He did grow out of it. Maybe could try a toilet seat for novelty ?

Thanks for the tips!

She had a bit of a fever overnight so perhaps she's been using up her fluid as she's not fancied much to eat.

Thought I'd update now that we're on day 7. No longer holding in the wee and has been taking herself off for wees as and when needed and is also going when prompted too.
