...toddler was able to identify and tell you they needed the potty without being reminded or asked to try every 45m or so?

2y4m old is now nappy free, happily and successfully uses the potty for all 1s and 2s with no accidents (since day 2). When in nappies, toddler would always tell me "Mummy, I'm doing wee now" or "Mummy, it's poo time" but now waits until they are asked.

It's very early days in this journey for us but just trying to gauge potty training next steps, I have no clue as a FTM! I fully appreciate all children will take a different/their own pace, but a rough idea would be helpful.

Don't know if it's any help, but my son was 2 years 10 months when we properly started training and he started telling us he needed to go within the first week.
I would suggest a big reward for if/when they do tell you, to encourage the concept of independence.
One thought, they may not realise that they can make the decision themselves, since it impacts what you're going to do next as well, whereas a nappy change would have had a bit more leeway with urgency, its a confidence thing (if that makes sense).
It will all happen with time, you've done really well so far by the sounds of it.

@Scramble1805 thank you for your response! Little one has started telling us now, we're just over a week in, and telling us with time to get up the stairs to the potty too (we have one downstairs too but they aren't keen on using that one).
