Hi everyone, my twin girls will be 3 in two weeks and I'm on the second round of potty training after trying in October last year. (Failed as I got stressed, they got stressed...asking them about weeing every 30 mins seemed to really wind them up!)
This round...
Day 1- a few accidents, No wees in potty.
Day 2- twin1 a dream girl; did some wees in potty for chocolate button bribes. Twin 2- held in all the wee all morning until nap and a nappy. Clearly needed to go but screamed when put on potty. No No No! She is a very strong-willed girl. She knows what she wants- and she does not want the potty!
Day 3- today- twin 1 two accidents, few drops of wee in potty. But not too bad on the whole. Twin 2- more withholding wee and doing the wee wee dance, weeing on laps, screaming blue murder when put on the potty or toilet.
I think twin 1 is on board (especially with buttons). They both understand everything and speak really well...but any ideas what to do about twin 2 withholding wee?
Have tried:
Water play
Blowing
Water on bits
Running taps
Watching videos
Reading books
Holding her on the toilet
But nothing will get that wee out!
According to "oh crap", I'm already screwed for leaving it too late. Twin 2 can tell me she has done a poo very articulately! She can take instruction and do tasks like put away her toys, carry a plate of toast into the living room- So I think she is ready in that sense.
But any ideas on how to get that wee out?
Poor thing is so uncomfortable.
She is so stubborn that if I put her back in nappies I think we will be back here in a few months.
And her next nursery insist on kids being fully toilet trained. So I have until September.....
I am currently just leaving it with her- it's your decision etc. since I can't force her to wee! Not sure what the right strategy is. She doesn't respond to chocolate buttons unfortunately! And would just cry for a jelly toy instead of doing the wee to get one...
Thank you for your advice in advance!
I'm broken. Wine is needed.
