Potty training 2yr 3mo daughter

Today I have begun potty training our daughter ages 2yr 3months. She’s been interested in a potty for about a month and talks about wearing big girl pants and is happy to wear them. I know it’s only day 1 and so it’s going to be difficult but we’ve managed 2 wees in the potty and about 10 all over the floor and in her pants. I’ve cleaned her up told her it’s ok it doesn’t matter and we need to try to get it in the potty next time, - but I can’t see and cues for when she is going to wee! It’s like every 10 minutes, one time is a little dribble the next it’s loads. I get her to sit on the potty each time she starts weeing but then she stops!

Am I doing this right? Or have I got this totally wrong???

Sounds pretty normal. I remember despairing on days 1 and 2 with DS, but by day 3 he cracked it and the accidents tapered off. If she’s happy to sit on the potty and has already used it a number of times, I’d consider that a win.

Take the pants off. Bare bottom for a while feels different enough that she's more likely.to hold it. Pants feel similar to nappies so if shes distracted she won't remember to hold it. With my DD we did a day of bare bottom at home, then she was out and about with a long dress and no pants for the next 3 days or so (nobody knew!). Don't think she had knickerson till the next week except for church (becaude DH was horrified at the alternative!)
