My son is 3, will be 4 in August. We've been trying no to potty train him for a good few months now. For background, I have a 4 year old son who I was able to potty train no problem. But this time around with my youngest.. I'm at my wits end.

For some more context, my 3 year old has a speech delay and is on a waiting list for speech and language therapy. He's able to say words like 'wee' and 'poo' amongst various other words but can't really formulate simple sentences expect for 'love you' and 'I don't want to' which sums him up entirely tbh. I don't think this is a massive contributor because he is able to understand everything I say to him. He's a very spirited child (aka stubborn bugger) so I'm finding the whole potty training an up hill battle with him to be honest.

He's always naked. Always. Whenever we're at home, the second he gets home he strips off. And he does wees and poos on the potty with no problem. However if he has pants on he will wee and poo in them. It just will not seem to sink in. Was going on for weeks so I got fed up of it and put him back in nappies whenever we left the house. In the house I encourage him to wear his big boy pants but he'll still have accidents and that's if I can convince him to even put clothes on.

I'm just really struggling. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Very similar to a child in my own family who has been diagnosed as on the autism spectrum. The late toilet training (he's 6 and now generally ok) also the taking off of clothes very familiar as feels the heat. Speech delay too. He's a cracking kid though
