DS 2.3 is potty training atm. If he is bare bottomed he will hold it in for hours then eventually go in the potty when he literally cannot go any longer but completely refuses apart from this. With pull ups on he will just go straight away in the pull up. I'm keen to continue the progress we've made but nursery have said he's refusing to use the potty and becoming upset. Is it best just to leave it for a few months? He definitely gets the idea but just isn't very keen at all.

Definitely leave it a while. He's much more likely to have problems like a uti or risk longer continence issues if he keeps holding it for so long.

Give it a few months and try again and hopefully he will be more keen and find the whole thing less upsetting.
