Daughter scared of potty

I've started potty training my 2 year 9 month old dd. She understands what the potty is what it's used for. She communicates this verbally.

We've started training her yesterday, but today she has refused to sit on the potty. She has weed and pooed in her underwear every time today.

About 30 mins after the last wee, I prompt her to use the potty (she quite consistently does a little wee every 30mins - 1 hour), but she gets very upset and cries saying she doesn't want to use the potty. She refuses to
sit on it. Shall I keep training? Is this normal? Or should I revisit in the new year?

Leave it. My son was like this, knew what it was for, saw other kids use them all day at nursery but absolutely didn’t want to do it himself and got upset.
no point making the association even worse for her, leave it for a few months.
i ended up leaving it quite a while due to some other stressful stuff going on and shortly after he turned 3 he decided to start using the toilet (with toddler seat) and we went from there. He never did take to the potty.

@CurlsLDN thank you, yes I think I'll leave it until after Xmas. It's probably the worst time of year to do it anyway with all the disruptions.

@justasking111 that's fantastic, thank you!
