Leaking wee?

My DD 3 in November started toilet training at the end of June. I feel she has done very well in that time, will always take herself off to the toilet for poos but needs prompting for wees, I will usually take her every couple of hours, she will often argue that she doesn't 'need' to go yet 9 times out of 10 will produce a wee when sat on the toilet. If I don't prompt she will take herself off to the toilet, but only after she's released a little wee, she's not having full on accidents but more like little leaks. I feel like this is all normal and often related to if she's had a lot to drink or I've not been able to physically take her to the toilet (nursing a newborn so timing not always ideal). DH is stressing that something is wrong and she should be able to recognise by now when she needs to wee before she has an accident.
I'm just after advice and experiences really, my expectations are that in time it will all sort itself out. Am I right to keep prompting and taking her to the toilet even if she says she doesn't need to? If so, how frequently should I be doing this?
Thanks
