I've blocked out the process for dc1 🤦‍♀️ but I do remember it being my least favourite part of parenting to date! ... about to embark with ds (2y8m)... survival tips gratefully received!!!

I bought BLF “potty learning” course when it was on the cheap and followed that with some success. Cleared the diary. Naked day 1, encouraged to use potty, watching out for signs. When it looked like he was getting it we added pants. When he seemed to be getting the hang of it we went for short trips out. They say as a guide that should take three days but might be more, I’d say ours was more like five. Keeping it cool if he had accidents. High fives when he did something on the potty.

Wait for a week when you can spend most of the time at home.

Put the potty out and remind them to go every 30 minutes.

If they cannot remove their own clothing, don't bother. Wait a few months.

Bribery was emplyed in this house when we trained our 2.5 year old this summer. A bag of chocolate stars 1 for every wee on the potty and 2 for a poo. I had him in pants from day 1 and the whole thing was done and dusted in about 6 days.

Thanks @Pickledcurlywurly and @Beees ! Definitely open to bribery and have cleared the diary for a week. A lot of baking ahead I think!!!
