So I started potty training with my boy today, one thing I’ve learned is that he can hold it! He has only done one wee, despite plenty of fluids, and that was in desperation at the first point he had to not be placed on the potty… he also hasn’t done a poop at all even though he usually goes easily at least 1/2 times each day… so do I take it he isn’t ready because he obviously doesn’t want to go on the potty/toilet seat… or do I stick with it knowing he has complete control of when he goes? He has started to tell me he needs changing not just after a poop but also as soon as he has had a pee and also started putting his hands in his nappy after a poop to explore it 😖 he’s 22 months and very verbal and active. I’m at a loss as my older child just got on the potty and did her business then thrived with praise, this one seems to be adverse to it but also doesn’t do it in his big boy pants either… any experience?
