Night time dry in pull ups, wet in pants?

Hiya!

I’m hoping someone can help me with a weird situation. My 3 year old has been dry overnight since being potty trained (2yrs,9mths). His pull ups are always dry and clean, to the point where I’ve used some 2 nights in a row because they’ve been clean!

I don’t want to waste my money anymore so I’ve switched him to pants for nighttime and now he’s wetting!

I just don’t understand it. He stays dry in pull ups and uses the toilet first thing but wee’s himself when he’s in normal daytime pants.

If anyone knows why this is happening and if there’s anything I can do that would be great!

Thank you!
Rachel

Could you try a pantry liner in his pants as a transitional phase? No experience but I wonder if the abruptly changed sensation is the issue.

My DS (2y 11m) is dry at night but not during the day 🙄He struggles with pulling his pants down so we just leave him bare at night, just in a tshirt.
Alternatively, if you've only just started it could just be because he's not used to the sensation, or maybe he knows he's not got that security of the pull up and has an accident out of anxiety. If it's one of those reasons, I say give it a week for him to adjust and just let him know he can get up and go to the toilet in the night if he needs to.
