DS is 2y3m. Just after he turned two he started trying to use the potty at nursery and objecting to nappies. Over a 3 day weekend we had a go at potty training - he cracked wees pretty much from day three at home and within the following week at nursery. Poos were not as successful tbf.
We had a brilliant two weeks then he moved rooms. The didn't realise he was potty training so put him in nappies the first week (I know!), then he was off with tonsillitis for a week and kept asking for nappies and saying "no potty!". So we put him back in nappies and put the potty away.
He's been asking for the potty again the past fortnight and saying "no nappy" and fighting changes the past week. So this weekend we had another crack. We managed one wee Saturday morning, big fuss and celebration. Everything else has been an accident. Today each wee he's said 'Uh-oh! Nevermind!" then doing a wee. So he knows it's coming, but if I offer the potty he says no and wets himself.
I've got to send him to nursery tomorrow. I don't think we should keep going backwards and forwards with the nappies, but we've clearly totally confused him. Any words of wisdom or experience? I feel like I've totally buggered this up and done him a terrible disservice 😞
