Trying to get my 3 year old out of pull-ups

Trying to get my 3 year old out of pull-ups before he starts preschool. Whenever we are at home or at someone else’s house without a pull-up he has no accidents always tells me when he needs the toilet. When we are in the car or out and about i.e soft play/ shops/ park he wets himself every time even though I constantly ask if he needs a wee i’m stuck as how to get past this he doesn’t particularly care about being wet just carries on so now we’re in the habit of putting on a pull-up whenever we go out anywhere… any advise please??

Can you let him pick some pants that he won't want to get wet?
We had this with 💩as a potty training regression and it's really hard so you have my sympathy. We had to take about 5 changes of clothes everywhere for a while.

Good idea about the pants will try this! Would love to just get past this stage as he has been dry indoors without a pull-up for about a year now

When you’re out and about Is there too much going on around him for him to want to stop for a wee , in case he misses out? ….. I’m which case maybe if it’s been a while since he last went, just take him to the loo rather than asking ? Forcing him to stop whatever he’s doing might be the trick

My four year old has been completely potty trained for ages with no issues (a week after turning 2) but we can still have challenges when out as I’d ask her if she needed a wee and her default would be NO. Even if she did need to go. All about control! We have talked it and we also insist on a wee at transition points - before leaving the house, before heading into soft play, before going on a journey of any kind and before bed. So even if she’s going to say no, it would be very unlikely we’d get in the car etc without having done a wee. We also make a game of it and race each other, I insist I’m peeing first, and if I’m really desperate I might offer a small bribe but very rarely.
