Possible to just stop the pull up?

My DS is 4 in a couple of months and still in pull ups for night time (no issues during the day).
The pull up is wet every morning but my biggest issue is he does a poo in it almost every morning at about 5am!
I would love him to not do a poo at this time as it's obviously starting our day so early. Is there any way to alter his body clock some how?
I think he is actually awake when he does this, maybe wakes needing a poo then just does it as he still has the pull up on. This morning it had completely overflowed into his bed and honestly I'm totally sick of crack of dawn poos! Wondering whether to just take the pull up away, put potty in his room and see what happens.
Any thoughts?

My 3.5 year old still wakes lots of mornings for a poo but does take pull up off to do it in the potty so it might just change your problem Grin

Pull-ups still v wet here too (despite no day issues)

I put a pull up on my DD last night for the first time in ages as she fell asleep before bedtime. She woke up this morning, stared me dead in the eyes and had a wee in her pull yo! I don’t know if they just think it’s a pull up so it’s ok to do what needs to be done in there.

Sorry I didn't realise I'd had responses! In case it's of interest to anyone we just took it away and had wet beds for several nights (less than a week) and now he seems to have got it! I know people say about waiting till they're dry but I think sometimes they need the push. Pull up too convenient!
