My DS is 2y9m. Yesterday we brought a potty after spending the last few months talking about it. He was super excited. Picked out his big boy pants and to my surprise he done 4 wee's on the potty and only a little bit of an accident with the first wee but managed the rest on the potty. Even one whilst I was upstairs he just took himself for a wee.
I've done lots of praise when he's used the potty and haven't told him off for having accidents.

This morning we put the big boy pants on and so far he has done 5 wee's on the floor/sofa. Again, no telling off but saying we will get the next one on the potty.

I'm not sure what is going on. Is this normal? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

The novelty has probably worn off a little. We did a sticker chart for wees, chocolate buttons for poos and regularly trips to the toilet (she preferred it to a potty). How are things going now for you? x

Keep the pants off for a day or 2. I found in the very early days the tightness of pants must have felt similar to a nappy so it confused him.
