I started training my 3 year old in potty training last Friday. He’s done all his wee’s in the potty since last Saturday and 1/2 poo’s and seemed really pleased with himself and was happy to get stickers and chocolate etc.
He went to pre-school (private) on Tuesday he had lots accidents all day and pooed his pants twice (I had his poo clothes in a bag yuk). They had a breakthrough they said and he asked to use the potty for a wee just before pick-up. On Wednesdays he goes to the forest school section and he had two wee accidents before the rang me to ask me that he’s breaking out in chicken pox.
This morning he weed in his potty and he didn’t put his penis down and it went all over the floor. I shouted at him and he cried and asked for his nappy back. I said no, apologised for shouting and he calmed down and put on his pants.
He’s not had any wee accidents but he’s just not interested in putting his penis down and sometimes gets up too quick so some wee ends up on the wall or on the floor. He’s also scared to poo in there.
Since nursery, he just doesn’t seem interested in the star chart or treats. He won’t ask or anything.
Maybe I should have waited for him to settle in pre-school more but I don’t know how long I could have waited?
I don’t know what to do. Persevere?? I’m worried the pre-school are going to think I’m lying that he’s fine doing wee’s at home. I feel bad they should clean up his poo. I feel like I am going to get really wound up with hun.
How did some children crack it in 2/3 days and my child is still not really interested?
We went out on Tuesday night and he refused to do a poo in the public toilets which resulted in us going home early.
He’s just done a poo in his pants now! He never tells us anymore.
