Hi, so scared may be a strong word, but it's hard to summarise in the title otherwise.
According to all the "experts" my 2yr 7 month old appears to be ready to use the potty. She happily sits on it for play, both at home and nursery. She can't stand having a soiled nappy and asks us to change her. She tells us when her wee is coming or has finished. She watches us use the toilet and flushes for us. She talks about her best friend using the toilet at nursery. However, having previously been happy to run round naked she now insists on wearing a nappy all the time. She also hates bath time saying her wee is coming, holding herself and becoming distraught if she thinks she's weed in the bath (it was a bath dribble, not a wee dribble). She has once weed on the potty and was really upset by this. We absolutely don't force her (not our style of parenting) and have started talking to her about being worried or scared in case she wees in the bath, which she says she is.
It seems like she does have control over the bladder however doesn't want to risk an accident or not have the security. For us we're not fussed about getting her out of nappies (super convenient not having to think about toilets and long journeys lol) but she seems so distressed.
I've tried googling but not found any results. Have you come across this? What helped? We just don't want her to be so sad. If you know of any useful websites feel free to link them below too. Thanks I'm advance ❤️
