My DS 2.4 is showing lots of signs of being ready such as taking nappy off when wet, weeing in the potty at nappy changes and knowing when he has done a number 2. I have decided to take the plunge while in isolation and im not really sure what I’m doing 🙈. We ditched the nappies at awake time yesterday and its not really gone as i imagined. So, he point blank refused to use the potty at all yesterday and we had multiple accidents, although he did say “potty” after he had wet himself, the only saving grace was at the end of the day when he was having a bath he said “potty” again and did a wee in the toilet.
Today I have taken a different approach of not asking him to use the potty but instead just taking him to the toilet every 30-60 mins and so far he has wee’d each time and we have had no accidents. Is this ok? Will it eventually click that when he gets the sensation he will ask for the toilet? He is in the phase of saying “no” for EVERYTHING asked of him at the minute so hes just saying “no” when we ask if he wants to go.
Any advice appreciated
