Must haves/last min tips for potty training (using Oh Crap)

I am going to attempt potty training using the Oh Crap method with my just turned 2 year old next week - I feel nervous! Any tips?!
I have a potty, toilet seat, puppy pads for car/pram. Thinking I should have bought two pottys and seats for each loo up and down but on well. We have no plans all week so will just go for it and hope for the best!

I'm only 2 days in and we are using pants, so i wished I had of bought one of those things where you peg all the washed pants onto it, and then you peg it onto the line.

I have a potty and a seat/step for the toilet but at this stage we are just bringing the potty to whatever room we are in at the time.

Spend time in the garden if you have one and don't worry if it takes a bit longer to click or you have to put on the odd nappy for a brief outing

Thanks all. Yes definitely planning on being in the garden lots! Luckily we also have wooden floor downstairs and will roll up the living room rug for now!

Day 2 - 5 wee accidents yesterday, 1 so far today. Improving on telling me she needs to wee and doing it in the loo. Not keen on using the potty at all. One poo in pants yesterday, today waited until nappy for nap and pooed then. No loo poo so far! How about you?

Don't worry about having to put on the odd nappy for an outing etc. The first time I did Oh Crap I was very pedantic about it. Second time with twins I just couldn't watch them as intently, so I missed cues, and I had at that point three small kids, and work was busier... but we got there.

@sesquipedalia we are day 2 now. All wees and poos have begun on the floor but I've moved her onto the nappy when they start and she's finished in the potty. She hasn't told me that she needs a wee ahead of going yet...is this normal and something she will learn or a sign she's not ready? Hoeofully yours is going well.

I'm a total novice! We're getting some weed totally on the loo, but often a little wee in knickers that she then stops and asks for a wee.

No loo poo yet, but I e yesterday just after she got off the loo so we're getting closer! We've also been looking at the app poo goes to Pooland!

Literally all I'm thinking about is potty, wees and poos. Think I even dreamt about it last night 😂How old is your little one? Mines only 2 recently so still early.

I'd say don't stress out too much, and if it doesn't work after a week or two, take a break and try again later without letting other people make you feel bad about it. My two children were toilet trained on completely different timescales, and DS really, really wasn't ready to give up nappies for poos until just before primary school. Having read lots of stories about long-term physical consequences of witholding poo, I'm really glad that I didn't go down that route with him. So go all-in for a couple of weeks and it will probably go well, but also don't push a child who isn't ready yet.

I'm giving it a week to see how we get on. She's nearly three so I do think she's ready . But my god I'm bored of reading Poo stories

Yes I'm going to give it a good go till the weekend. Fingers crossed for some progress for us both!
