Potty training disaster

My DD will be 3 in August and I feel like I haven't cracked potty training at all!

She thinks that after she's done a poo in her pull up pants - she then has to sit on the potty 🤷🏻‍♀️

She tells me sometimes she needs wee and will wee whilst on the potty but it's not consistent ... as in we wear nappy pants in the day and she will go in them...not ask for potty.

I'm thinking I need to spend a week with pants and no nappy....

Any tips?

Yeah we went no pants for a weekend, literally solved it in 2 days! I felt like a twit for not trying it sooner but, well, the accidents are annoying...

If she's three, feeling wet is icky. Puddles of wee on the floor also icky. Poopy pants very icky indeed.

Get a potty training book, draw some pictures with her and cut them out and get her to put them in the right order with you (pictures of girl needs a poo with pants on, girl goes to potty, girl pulls down pants, girl does wee or poo, mummy wipes, pull up pants, wash hands, go play).

Also don't forget to go out with her and buy some big girl knickers that she has chosen, and tell her that when she can keep them clean and dry all day she will get a nice reward. Buy plenty of knickers so you can cope with accidents.

No pants is the way to go. I had thought it would take a week but by the end of the week DS was in big boy pants and had started using the toilet as he preferred it.

We used lots of books and a sticker chart and waited for it to be warm to spend lots of time in the garden.

Absolutely go down the no pants route. It sounds confusing for her to be wearing pull ups some of the time. You just have to bite the bullet. I’ve just trained my 2.9 yes old and the first two days were intense and about 50/50 accidents but at the start of day 3 she had no wee accidents anymore. Poo is taking a bit longer but that’s normal.

No pants and get rid of the potty. Dd came on leaps and bounds when we started using the loo. Just get a seat and a step.

We will never learn if she is still in pull up or another type of nappy. Yy to spend a few day or a week naked on the bottom half. Then 6 weeks in trousers but no knickers/pants and then she can have knickers.
