Having none of it!

My little boy is nearly 3 and starting nursery school and I cannot get him to use the potty, he runs away and cries for his nappy on, I've got two different potty's, sticker charts everything but he will not sit on it. Any tips would be much appreciated

Is there a need for him to be potty trained now like is it a requirement from the nursery?

I have just potty trained my DS this week and he is 3yrs 4 months. I know if I had tried much sooner than now it would have been difficult and him being older with a much better understanding has meant we have cracked it in under a week.

A lot of people recommended the ‘oh crap’ book to me but I didn’t like it. I feel like it emphasises a lot on potty training earlier at the optimum time which by the time I read the book we had gone way past😂

Basically from what I read the book suggests setting a clear week to focus completely on potty training, having them naked from the waist down for the first couple of days to watch for their cues and then you begin to tackle pants etc. They suggest not introducing a potty for them to get used to etc which we had already done to get him practicing sitting on it!

If it isn’t a nursery requirement you may find that he naturally wants to follow his friends and use the potty at nursery.
