DD is 20 months and showed all the signs for potty training, announcing when she did anything in the nappy, pulling at it, being a demon to try and get one on at all, asking to sit on loo, had enough language to say wee and poo so we thought ok let’s do this. Day 1 as expected plenty of accidents, day 2 morning was great, no accidents in morning and used potty, afternoon she became the dribble child but she was looking and just experimenting with letting wee out and stopping I think. Day 3 disaster, resistance etc. Day 4 it clicked, it just happened, would stop paying and run to potty to use all by herself without any help or reminding from me. I thought yes we got this. Day 5 she seemed oblivious, almost ignoring the feel of wee and accidents all over the place. That day began differently, DH was around in morning and left for work, she waved him off but all day kept asking to get in the car to go see daddy. She was frustrated and teeth grinding and tried to bite too. Rang DH, he came home early, abandoned his phone and spent quality time with just her playing digdig, after and hour she went back to using the potty by herself again and when prompted just before bed.
Today, day 6, she in a good mood, normal type morning with no daddy present, will sit on potty when asked too but has lost that awareness of a need to wee before it happens. Is this following on from yesterday’s set back? Should I keep going? She has not asked for daddy today and has shown no frustration, whatever clicked the other day just seems to of unclicked. No idea what to do for the best. Should I send her to nursery tomorrow in nappies so she gets a break and maybe has a chance to process things? Have kept her home all week. Am lost
