My son is 2.5 years and is extremely good with using the potty during the day for wee's but will not go for a poo.

He will just go in his pants and then ask me to change him not sure why he won't use the toilet when he has full understanding!

Any tips?

DD did this, even to the extent of holding it in while she was at nursery and wanting a nappy on as soon as she came home to do her poo in!
Apparently it's to do with the sensation of the poo dropping (sorry, TMI Grin). We were a bit mean and, when she had started doing her poo in her nappy, we would whip the nappy off and plonk her on the toilet so it fell in there. It took a little while, but she got used to it eventually!

Poo goes to pooland.

Got our 2.5 year old who had been weeing on the potty/toilet since 20mo pooing on the toilet in 2 days.

Also try getting rid of the potty and onto a seat on the toilet instead, and encouraging them to try and make the loudest plop noise they can. Makes it fun for them and means you aren't left having to deal with a potty full of poo.
