Help needed - DS refuses potty at home!

Hi all, really need some help. Sorry in advance for long post! DS is 29 months and goes to nursery full time. Since he was 24 months or even before we talked about potty, practiced using it and DS would talk about his friends at nursery using pants and potty. We decided to give it a go 2 weeks ago, as I had a weeks leave. We had some success ‘catching wees’ and had two dry days in the first 3 days.

Roll on day 4 and he point blank refused to use a potty. By day day 6 we decided we didn’t think he was ready and didn’t want to stress him - so went back to nappies. All day he wouldn’t wee in his nappy and was wriggling around for a wee. Instead I had to put him on the potty - he wasn’t keen though.

So come return to nursery we sent him back in pants. Nursery say he sits on the potty well with his friends and does have some success but also a few accidents (which is ok I expect that!). Come home time he again refuses to sit on the potty and just wets himself. If he does sit it is for two secs before he says - I am all done mummy and disappears off - no wee! We have tried stickers, taking him with us to the loo, singing, playing games on the potty. No matter what DS isn’t into it and looks at me as though I am silly for thinking a sticker would sway him!!

I know he knows what the potty is for - he tells me and I know he knows he needs to pee - as he is wriggling to hold it in - so can anyone tell me how do I get him to use a potty at home!!! Thanks for all your help - desperate mama!!Grin

Would he use one of the plastic seats with steps that fits on a normal loo? We had a potty but I don't really remember DS using it as he liked to use the "big boys" toilet.

He hasn’t seemed keen to use the toilet. But then again - we just have a trainer seat to put on top. I haven’t seen one of these!! That may work. Will give it a go if we don’t see improvement. Thank you!
