Is he just not ready?

I'd be grateful for some advice please. My DS is almost 3 and I'm getting pressure over potty training. But I'm not actually sure he's even ready.
He can't tell me when he needs to go, but can tell me he is pooing, which is a recent development over him telling me he's pooed but denying he's in the process of it when I ask... (I can tell from his face).
If I say, shall we put pants on you today? He just says "no! Nappy!" Even though I've brought him a novelty potty and pants to try and enthuse him - it's not worked. He doesn't want to sit on a training seat in the toilet.
He doesn't want pants on.
Doesn't want to be bear bummed - I figured if I can get him doing this, I can just put him on the potty when I see the 'poo face' or see him about to wee (thank goodness for wooden floors Grin)
Should I even persevere with trying to get him on the potty or just wait another month or so? My worry is that we've previously had constipation and withholding issues and he's currently on a maintenance dose of movicol which is suiting him fine. I don't want to cause fear issues and be back to square 1 and withholding Confused

Please advise!

I'd leave it at least a month. If you've got a DH/DP could he show him what he does?

Leave it till a little warmer then can do bare bum in the garden... He doesn't sound ready.. Better to leave and try again when more likely successful

I started off by having the potty in the bathroom then, when the bath was running, I’d strip them off and encourage them to just sit on the potty. Sometimes they did something, sometimes they didn’t. No pressure.

Aw I'm in same boat, mines nearly 3 but decided to wait for weather to change makes it easier to walk around in his underwear, also I'm homeschooling too so cant have my undivided attention.

I am in a very similar position with my DS who is 3 next month. Very little interest in the potty/toilet. He still denies having a poo when he is in the throws and pees on the floor whenever he is nappy free. I'm just going to wait a little longer and try not to put pressure on it.
