No wee for 12+ hours

My LO is 2y9m and we haven't yet started potty training. Two days ago he didn't wee from 10am until 5pm which was really unusual but he eventually did and was normal the next day. This morning, he woke up after 12 hours with a bone dry nappy. It is usually bursting at the seams with wee, occasionally it gets so saturated he wakes up and his pyjamas, bed etc are wet. So very unusual!
Does it sound like something is wrong or is this a sign he is getting ready for potty training?

I would probably be handing a urine sample in to the GP to have it checked for uti.

How much is he drinking during the day? You need to make he's getting enough fluids

Thank you, this is what I feared. It's always been a challenge to get him to drink but somehow he still always wees a lot. I wouldn't say he has been drinking less than usual. I am quite an anxious person and as he had covid a few weeks back i am now paranoid he has kidney issues :(

Our little boy is 2y6m and we haven't started potty training yet...so far he's in a routine of doing his morning wee and bedtime wee on the potty...I've read as they get older they can start to hold there wees for longer periods of time and through the night...our little one wakes dry in a morning...we haven't gone any further yet with potty training as I've read it's easier when there older around 3 as they pick it up easier xx
