Any tips for getting them to poo on the loo/potty?

We’re only on day 5 of potty training, we’ve made such a good start with wees, she’s now able to stay dry and asks to use the loo when she needs a wee. No accidents in 3 days 🤞🏻

Poos are another story. I know they generally take longer but just wondering if there’s anything I can do to help her along the way. Shes using both the toilet and potty depending on what floor she’s on (toddler toilet seat on the ground floor only).

At the moment she has pooed in her pants and trousers twice, plus another two times I managed to catch her and knew what she was doing so put her on the potty one time and she managed to poo in the potty. however tonight I caught her again and put her on the toilet and she only did a tiny tiny one, I guess she held the rest in?! Sad

She doesn’t ask the same way she does with wees, and when I have caught her she appears really embarrassed and told me to go away and cried while I tried to encourage her to use the potty/toilet but was fine once I’d actually put her on! Not sure how to handle it?

She’s 2 and a half and a great talker (not sure if that helps).
Also I’ve offered her a nappy to wear to poo in but she refuses saying she only wants to wear big girl pants!

Thanks in advance!

The fact that you've got a pooh in the potty is great. I think they don't like to pooh in the potty at first, so they with old it a bit (the small pooh). Our boy was actually bowel trained before bladder trained.

We gave a chocolate button for a wee in the toilet and an ice cream for a pooh. Ice cream was also a relatively new thing so also a novelty! Worked wonders. It just meant he had ice cream as a pudding for a little while, but we only gave a smallish amount. Also put him on potty about 30 mins after evening meal which seemed to work too.
