My son is 2.5 next month, been showing readiness signs for a while so decided to go for it today using Oh Crap method.
3 x wees on potty, 2 x wet accidents and 1 poo accident (ran to try to get to potty). He knew each time that he should be weeing/pooping on the potty and kept trying to get there. Happy to sit on potty (have been practicing for a while) but when he wees on it he seems really upset? I praise him, offer a small reward etc so thought maybe it was just the new sensation? But at bedtime he has cried for ages saying "no wee wee". I explained that tomorrow he can wee wee on the potty again and he has his nappy if he needs to wee overnight but he was still sobbing. Lay with him until he went to sleep and now he is snoring.
Have I scarred him emotionally? He was happy enough at tea time / in the bath / reading story.
