Toilet regression since starting school

DS (4.5) was late to potty train but has reliability dry since about Christmas.

But... since starting school last week he’s had a complete regression Sad. He’s only been doing mornings so hasn’t wet himself at school yet, but has been wetting himself more or less constantly at home; he did every wee in his pants over the weekend, apart from the ones where I realised he was due to go and took him off to the toilet myself. He’s also been quite under the weather with a cold, so I imagine that’s not helping.

I’m really worried about what will happen when he starts full days.

Can anyone help?? Do I just need to ride it out?

He’s suspected ASD, if that makes a difference.

He maybe finding the change overwhelming so maybe talk to him about how he’s feeling and discuss the change that is taking place. If he’s not too well definitely could be contributing. I would Get back to basics with the potty training to see if it improves things, sometimes it can feel like you’re starting all over again.

I wouldn’t ride it out, as much as accidents happen and are normal, it would become an obvious issue at school if it was to happen daily.

Lots of luck!
