Hello,

Please share with me your potty training hints and tips!
I'm planning to use my AL to give potty training a go. Little girl was 2 in February and is showing some (small) signs already so thought we'd give it a go but would love to have some hints and tips to go with!

Currently have knickers, pull ups and the washable cloth training pants. I'm not sure about the pull ups and I wonder if these are too 'nappy' like?

TIA Smile

Lots of people do the oh crap method. We introduced the potty while still wearing pull ups and nappies and when she was using it reliably changed to knickers. I did try the potty training pants but they were the worse. She has always done big wees and she was more likely to do them in the training pants than the knickers and they don't hold much wee. I have just one example. The idea is if a child does a little wee, realize and stops the training pants catch it but that never happened with my daughter, was all or nothing.

Oh crap method advocate- trained v quickly with minimal accidents. Best tip imo is once you ditch nappies for day time, don’t go backwards. No reward charts just “this is what we do now”. Also don’t plan any time sensitive outings when training, sometimes it would be 30mins of “once you’ve done a wee we can go out”.
