Wiping

My daughter is 4 and a half. She is starting school in September so I’ve been trying to teach her how to wipe her bum with varying degrees of success! At what age should children be able to wipe after a poo? Will someone help her at school? Thanks!

Our school is clear that they can support ie give verbal directions but not physically wipe a child.

Thanks Lois. I think that’s all the help she’ll need so hopefully her school will do the same.

You will need to tell them that she needs this help as they won't be routinely supervised in the toilet
