Night time dryness

Hi,

Looking for some suggestions my daughter has been daytime dry and wearing just pants since sep/oct last year.

I tried about 3 weeks ago for the night time dryness but after a week we put nappies back on her as she was going 2 times in the night and wasn't aware and it was causing her to be knackered during the day however this week we've had 5 days of complete dry nappies. 3 days, then a very heavy nappy and then 2 days completely dry.

Shes going 10 hours without doing anything at night, just wondering how many dry nappies others leave before trying pants again?

My daughter is 4 and has just come out of night time nappies. She's been potty trained during the day for about a year. I forgot to put a nappy on her twice and she stayed dry so I don't put one on her now. She's only had one accident and that was a few weeks ago now. My eldest son though was 5 before he came out of a pullup at night and he had the occasional accident till he was 6.

My advice: do not wait another day! The very heavy nappy could've been due to her doing a "morning pee" and emptying her bladder as she woke. There is no number of dry nights you need to look for before starting. In fact, the longer you wait, the more likely you will be dealing with nighttime wetness because she may just slip into a habit of peeing at night and not thinking about it.

There are a few steps to follow, not just removing the nappy - good luck.

Nights are hormonal and at that age it can be a bit up and down even if there are dry nights. I would keep her in a pull up until she's consistent. FWIW anywhere up to age 7 or so is considered normal. I'm just celebrating my 8 year old coming out of pull ups!
