My daughter will be 3 next month. We started potty training her in October because she was showing signs of being ready- pulling her nappy down when wet, taking an interest in the potty etc. At first she took to it really well, we used pull ups and she would sit on the potty and toilet amd wee, not all the time but quite often and we would praise her, make a fuss etc. She has been doing well in nursery most days dry the odd accident but refuses to poo in the toilet or potty so because of this I have to keep pull ups on her otherwise she just soils herself and I end up throwing clothes away. She doesn’t just pop once and it’s often loose. She has done the odd poo in the potty but I think it’s just good timing! Any way potty training has been going on for months! It’s now nearly 4 months now amd I’m still having to put pull ups on her same reason but recently she just wets herself and is doing this in nursery as well as home, I constantly ask her if she needs a wee and try to put her on the potty/toilet but she mostly point blank refuses. I feel like we are regressing now after a great start!! I’ve tried sticker charts and bribery but that doesn’t work Amd I just think she’s lazy!! I have left the pull up off when I’m in the house but she just wets herself and really isn’t bothered she strips off and prefers to be naked! My son was potty trained in one week so I’m getting very frustrated now and starting to think it will never happen!! I now I should keep persevering and leave the pull ups off but because I work I can’t do this! My mum says when your off work a few days just leave her without pull ups and try her then but it’s impossible for me to be able to just stay in and do this with having my son ! Anyone have any advice or words of reassurance from their experiences please? Thanks

Potty training is awful. I'm about to start with my second.
I've got the oh crap potty training book and jamie glowacki's recommendation is to take a long weekend at home, make no plans, no pull-ups, no trousers. Just bare from the waist down. Keep a potty handy and watch her like a hawk. Work out what her "tell" is and sit her on the potty as soon as you notice it no printing as over prompting can lead to refusal apparently; also no phone or distractions, you have to watch like a hawk). Lots of praise when successful. She also says to go commando for a month after (the idea being that knickers replace nappies and pooing in knickers feels a lot like pooing in a nappy which will be comfortable for her.

Took my older daughter 3 days of this to get it. She's been clean/dry day and night since. I really recommend the book. Failing that try the ERIC website, some good resources on there

Sorry for typo - no prompting not printing
