Big baby leaking night times

I don’t know if this is the right place for this as my son is too young for potty training. He’s ten months old, but a big boy who has now grown out of size 6 nappies. The last few nights he has been soaking! I can’t find size 7 night time premium absorbable nappies. Any recommendations for brands good for night times? He breastfeeds through the night, hence possibly needs the extra absorbency.

6+ nappies are for 20kg plus. What weight is he? Have you tried different brands?

He’s not near 20kg, but Ive always found it’s the fit rather that the weight. We’ve been using pampers premium, which is the brand we’ve always had least leaks with. We also had some success with Aldi own brand. It’s just that we’re not getting the absorbency anymore.

What brand 6+? Pampers don’t seem to do a 6+.

My five year old is in 6 / 6+ nappies at night. I wonder if the nappies are leaking because they're too big

You could try putting a pull up nappy over a normal nappy to see if that helps contain things...

Also, the larger sized superdrug nappies and sainsbury nappies have worked very well for us - pampers have always leaked for us, after a certain size

As previous poster said if the nappy is too big it can leak , we get on well with tesco nappy's in a size 5 plus

Try asda little angels or Lidl nappies.

Thank you all for the tips. @willowherbrose - great idea with the pull up nappy, I’ll give that a go.

The size 6 nappies only just do up on the fastening indicators, they’d be too tight if I pulled in any further. Although they do sag a bit below, so maybe just overall not a great fit. He’s been wearing size 6 for a while now (say 6 weeks or so) and it’s only this last week that they’ve started leaking.

My two are/were big babies, and tall. I found pampers awful, leaks and nappy rash. Sainsbury's own are superb. My little one is 2 now and in 5+. He goes through the night no leaks ever.

Also - always check the cuffs are out. If I forget when we are changing on the run I get a leak! From pampers (ironically!):

Make sure that the nappy fits well
Ideally the nappy should look straight and equally proportioned on your baby, then check that:

The waist is snug with the nappy just under the tummy button.
The leg cuffs wrap neatly around your baby’s legs and bottom. After putting on the nappy, run your fingers around these edges to make sure that the cuffs are pulled out. Cuffs being tucked inside is a frequent cause of leakage.
Stretch: The tapes should be fastened symmetrically on the coloured landing zone (waist band) Pampers nappies have flexible sides which adapt to the baby’s shape and movement.

I had / have a big baby too. He started leaking later than your lo though but I actually put two nappies on him at night and that worked a treat. He was soaked through whenever we just used one. He's still on 6+ now (totally recommend sainsburys own, use them on both of mine) as he just grew up and slimmed down. We're in early stages of potty training at the mo and must be holding better as we're back down to one now and have been for a few months. (My 8mo daughter is in 5+/6 already) xx

Hi I have similar issues you can get Pampers up to size 8 I get mine from Asda I have also tried toddler nighttime training pull ons as they seem to be very absorbent. Good luck!
