My lg is 22 months and yesterday started asking for the toilet. Ive got her a seat that i put on the toilet with a stool. Everything going well and no accidents so far, although still expecting them.

Every time she asks for the toilet ill go in and help her up, give her a book ( she hides behind a book when she goes in her nappy) and ill sit in the doorway with my back to her so she doesnt feel like she has an audience lol.

Is it normal that every time she goes, she has a poo? She had already pooed in her nappy when we got up this morning so figured shes done for the day! As she normally just does the one a day. Shes been on the toilet a few times this morning, and two of those times pooed again..

Google isnt giving me much info, infact the opposite, it talks about children not wanting to poo on the toilet, my lg seems to be the opposite and not sure if i should be worried or happy that its going ok so far lol! Its not runny poos either so wouldnt say she has a dodgy tummy

I don’t understand why you would be worried? If she’s got poo in her gut, it’s got to come out whether she’s wearing a nappy or not, even if she usually only goes once a day. Sounds like you have a very clever DD to potty train herself overnight.

Is she hasn't got an upset tummy and it is runny it doesn't sound like an intolerance.

Do you have a practice nurse you could mention it too ? Perhaps she has a some tummy. Though is might warrant further investigation just to be on the safe side.

Little children do poo quite a lot IME. After all, it doesn't have far to go.
As pp have said, if it is normal in appearance I wouldn't worry.

My dd is now 4 and still poos most times she uses the toilet - goodness knows where it all comes from!! She's perfectly healthy and content. Some people just go more than others I think!

Was only worried as wasnt sure that it was normal to poo everytime lol but good to hear its not just her! Smile

TMI warning! have some nursing home experience which may be of interest. For those people who were doubly incontinent they would poo more if they sat on the toilet rather than depend exclusively on adult nappies. Some would also soil less after. Much more comfortable when you can properly open your bowels rather than try to poo in a physically restricted position on a flat surface. It sounds like she's just letting what she has go. She's doing a great job too!
