Hi

My little boy is nearly 2 but I'd like to start potty training him, not just on a whim there is a reason for it!

He's started to indicate when he's done a wee or poo but his big brother was 2.5 when we trained him, so not too sure where to start with him being much younger.

Any advice much appreciated! Thanks

I would say it’s a fine age and not ‘early’. Go for it.

My daughter just turned two and I got her a potty yesterday. We tend to think in age because of the law but I think age is just a number. Whenever someone is developed enough to do anything, I think they are ready. This includes adults as well lol.

I potty trained my son when he was 20 months and he was certainly ready. I let him run around naked at home, that way they can easily notice when they peed and you will soon see if he is ready to use the potty - if he is, he will soon realise before peeing that he needs to.

Hi I'm currently potty training my 21m dd past 3 days and she's having probably 60-70% of her wees and pops in the potty at the min

Everyone's different but what's working for me:

I've let her run around naked in the garden when she's started to wee I've directed her to the potty. Took her a day to finally get it and wee in the potty

Put knickers on under pull ups to help her feel wet but reduce the mess. I'm gonna do this for a week and revert to knickers only

I'm giving her stickers and letting her flush

If I ask her if she wants to go and she says no I'll leave it even if she then wees or has just weed

Thanks all! Some great ideas I think I'm just going to go for it and persevere!
