DS has regressed with poos! What to do?

DS who is now 3.5 was potty trained back in February just before his third birthday. He did really well and has been doing wees and poos on the toilet fine no problem, saying when he needs to go and almost being a bit obsessive about going in every single toilet whenever we were out and about.

For the last couple of weeks he has started to poo in his pants, at the start it would just be a little bit and then he would say he needs to do a poo but it has now progressed to just doing the whole poo in his pants and not saying anything. We can tell when he is doing it as he lays down with his bottom sticking up in the air or just gets fidgety and starts fiddling with his bottom, when I say to him you have had an accident we need to go to the toilet he gets cross and is reluctant to stop what he is doing to go to the toilet.

I’ve made him a sticker chart and have explained that if he gets enough stickers he will get a toy. Since Wednesday he has so far only got one sticker. His key worker at nursery said that he told her he needed a poo which is more than he does for me but when they got to the toilet he had already done it in his pants.

Has anyone got any experience of this? Is there anything else I can do along with the sticker chart? Nothing has changed at home or with his diet so I can’t understand why the sudden regression? Help!!

Are his poops normal?
Constipation can cause this.
