Losing my mind!!!!!.

My daughter just wont poo in the toilet no matter what and I'm at my witts end I don't no what to do. I've been potty training her for 8 weeks she will see in the toilet never wets herself but it constantly pooping in her knickers no matter I try she's never once pooed on the toilet its every f**king day excuse the language but I'm so stressed with it she starts school in September and they wont take her if she's not fully toilet trained. Someone please help x

First off you are going to have to relax. Lol I kno it's easier said then done but you must be balanced yourself in order to be there for anyone else in any capacity. If she isn't taken into school, what's the worst that could happen? Will she still be alive? Will you? Will she still love you? Things will work out, trust me and the stress has shifted your priorities. I had to lose everything not long ago, including the price page of fatherhood to see what I really had. I had to go through much pain to appreciate what I really had first and foremost. I've found you can't really make anyone do anything and the only thing you can truly control is yourself. So my advice is to slow down, gain perspective, appreciate that you have a child and can afford diapers, things like that and you will see that your perception of things will change.

Sorry if you've tried this... have you just let her sit on the toilet for half an hour with toys/books as a distraction. I was going to reply to say don't worry but school starts so soon so agh! I went to a preparing your child for reception talk and the teacher was adamant that you could make any child poo before leaving for school in the morning. She said just put them on the loo for 5 mins until they've had a poo! To me that sounds pretty unlikely to work for everyone! Does your dd understand she can't go to school until she poos in the toilet? Maybe she's using it as an excuse not to go? Or maybe she'll get to school and want to be grown up like the rest and will start using the loo because she wants to.

My son struggled with this. I got him some books from Amazon, there's several about doing a poo on the loo. One was called 'come out Mr Poo' and it's appallingly bad but he LOVED it and it really helped. Also have her in with you when you do a poo and show it to her in the toilet, explaining the whole time "look there is mummy's poo, now I'm flushing the toilet, now I'm washing my hands" etc. She needs it to be normalize because it can feel bizarre to them. And you need to be calm too if you can. You've still got a couple of weeks.

Have you done poo goes to Pooland?
A lot of kids see pop as part of their body and having always had their bum covered before, it must feel weird?

Also I kno this is sort of unorthodox but seems to have really helped with understanding. My daughter goes into the bathroom when it's in use since we don't have a lock on it and when I got her potty yesterday she knew exactly what to do with it. I put together that kids rarely do what u say lol but they do what you do. She might need some lessons in being nosy but for now maybe take your kid in with you and really show them lol I kno it seems or is sort of disgusting but shame just creates more shame and can be the number one thing that prevents growth I've found. Plus who cares it's our kids, n I ain't got no shame when it comes to my kids. Is it weird, and awkward? Hell yea lol. Should I, or do I care? Hell no!!!

I'm having the exact same problem with my little boy. We've been potty training for about 4 weeks. No problem with wees, he's even dry at night, but every poo is in his pants. I read on a thread that sometimes children are scared of using the potty/toilet so to help them understand, they need to see the process of what happens to the poo. So now, we've started tipping the poo into the potty and then the toilet. It's not worked so far but he's showing more interest in the process! He's starting nursery next week so I'm hoping something will fall into place in his little mind! Good luck!

I had difficulty with ds1 and potty training and I wish I'd known about the Children's Continence Service. Your doctor can refer you. It would have saved us some other difficulties as he's got older.

Oh such fun.

Mine used to hide under the table to do a poo. We would go and put it in the toilet together and he would flush it bye bye. In the end I resorted to stickers. 2 columns, one for the toilet one for him. If he went on the toilet he got the sticker, if not, the toilet got it. At the end of the week, the winner got a treat.

By the end of it the toilet had a new seat, a motion sensitive light and stickers.

It did work though x
