Potty training and diarrhea

Hi, we are at the early stages of trying to potty train our 3 year old ds.

Its not exactly going great, he will happily sit on the toilet but hasn't done anything in there yet, he just says he is finished and gets down.

He is just doing everything in his pants as if he were wearing a nappy. Sigh.

But were staying strong and calm and trying to push through it.

Today he has been a bit off and his stools have been very loose, very unpleasant to be cleaning up, for him and me. I'm not sure if he may have a tummy bug.

I don't know if I should just put nappies on him tomorrow, or until he is well just to make it less stressful for everyone.

I don't want to send him mixed signals about the nappies though, I really wanted to go cold turkey (apart from night time) and get him using the toilet .

Any advice here very much appreciated. Xx
