This is driving me crazy. Praise when dry, "punishments" charts etc nothing is helping

He's gotten into a bad habit at school and now at home too of waiting until he's desperate before going for a wee. It means he's wetting himself almost daily at school. His reason he says is he's scared to miss out on what they are doing. But he never tells anyone he comes out wet and sometimes stinks as it's obviously been all day. School just said its really common.
He likes to help use the washing machine. And it's driving me mad as he's capable it feels lazy, I don't know what to try. I'm pregnant and hormonal and it's really getting to me. I don't want anyone to make fun of him but worry they will as he stunk so bad the other day. I don't know how the teachers cant notice it.

Any ideas what to try?

If he has control and it isn't a medical problem - what about straight bribery. A chocolate after school if he hasn't had any accidents and a small toy on the weekend if he's been the whole week with no accidents.

Ask his teacher for advice, probably will be to tell him to tell the teacher if he needs to go so he/she can facilitate that.
