Hi everyone please help!! Advice needed!!

So my little girl started showing signs a month ago. This morning I have started. So far we've had 1 successful wee on the potty.

She got all excited but do I just need to keep asking her if she needs to go & putting her on?

Thanks x

I'd download and read Oh Crap (it's short!). I've used it with both DC but DD was my first and 22mo when she refused to wear nappies any more and it gave us a plan to follow.

Hi OP, how is it going? I have started potty training today with my 21 month old using the Oh Crap book. It's not going too well to be honest. I haven't been able to spot when DS is about to wee. However when he starts I tell him he's weeing and he will stop until I put him on the potty. I've started putting him on the potty every half an hour which means less wee on the floor!

Another big supporter of the book "oh Crap". It's worked great with our DS.
How are you getting on OP?

They do say not to over prompt, once your child knows where to put her wee and poo, so to speak.
But definitely get the book for a better explanation

The only thing I now need is to try and extend the amount of time DD sits on the toilet , he has times if we are out and about playing or he has something he wants to dash back to, he has a little wee but then he's back on the toilet in about 20/ 30 mins for another wee.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated or will it just come with time?

I put all of mine on the potty and clapped etc when they did wee : poop. If they got pants wet it was don’t worry next time - I put them on every 30 min to an hour it worked

It's not going to well. I'm the same I can't seem to get her before she's about to wee or poo. But when she does it ok the floor she knows that's not right & says oh no.

It's really hard. And she's back at nursery Thursday Friday so u don't no what to do x

OP I am still in the same boat as you! Half way through day 2 and neither DS nor I have any warning about when he's going to wee. Don't know whether I should give up at the end of today...or keep going for one more day. The Oh Crap book says that it only usually takes about 3 wees before they realise it's coming a couple of seconds before - we've had about 30 and he's still clueless!
