Cloth nappies for bigger children

Hi

DS2 is 19 months old and weighs 32lb (14.5kg). I've been using Charlie Banana cloth nappies but they're now too small for him even on the biggest setting and leave red marks around his thighs. I think we are a long way off potty training (DS1 potty trained at 4 years, 2 months) and I am reluctant to give up on cloth.

Can anyone recommend any bigger cloth nappies?

Thanks x

Have you considered Terries? They come in a variety of sizes and thicknesses but you'd have no difficulty with 60cm ones at that size.

I hadn't. I'll look in to it but it looks complicated! 😬 x

It's not at all after the first few days. the Nappy Lady has a site showing different folds; some of them may look at first as though they need a degree in origami but even they soon become routine and anyway very simple ones work just as well as more complicated ones in our experience (5 children, all of whom had them from birth through to being dry at night anywhere between 5 and 7+). One tip is to fold nappies in the way you will use them as soon as they are dry - that way you are not trying to fold a nappy one handed while needing both to catch a boy's squirting wee and limit the dog's interest in the nappy you have just taken off at the same time with the free hand as well as stopping the baby from rolling off the changing mat with your knee, as I was one day until I learned better. Terries are cheap - though can buy the thickest and best you can find/afford, they dry quickly, really are birth to much, much, later and, I am told, have an after life as floor cloths etc. (Ours are waiting to be used on a somewhat unexpected little gift due in four months time.)

I loved the Charlie banana ones but they did seem better suited to smaller kids than mine. !

we mostly used Bumgenius Freetimes which DC1 wore until he was older than yours

TJ's junior wraps over your CB inserts. May need fleece liners
