I think DD is ready to start potty training. But I just don't know how to actually start. Just wondered if anyone has any advice? TIA

We did a very gentle potty training and were led by child.
Explain what you are going to do, they understand more than we think.
When at home, nappy off. Mine wanted to be naked most of the time.
Then once he was consistent with using the potty/toilet I introduced pants. Bought fun ones I knew he'd like. Let him choose which ones to wear.
The reason I didn't do it all together is that we started using the potty at around 1 and he didn't have the dexterity to deal with pulling pants up and down at that point, but could happily sit himself down to do the business! It might not be as bad as you think, just give it a go.

And be prepared for the inevitable accidents but don't make it a big deal.
We just said Oh dear, let's get cleaned up. Remember to tell us when you need to go or sit on the potty.

This isn't very trendy advice these days but I would say don't do it too soon. My son saw his mate start using a potty at 2and a half and asked for one too. He was dry really quickly because it came from his initiative. My daughter was almost 3 and again kind of made the decision herself. I've watched lots of friends start really early, insist their kids are done and turned a blind eye to the constant puddles.
