Anyone potty trained a child with toddler diarrhoea?

My DS has been diagnosed with 'toddler diarrhoea' which is the condition of loose stools between the ages of about 1 and 5. He should outgrow it at roughly the time he is starting school. It's not triggered by anything particular and they're not sure what causes it.

I'd like to try potty training him (again!) as he really does have the understanding to know what the potty and the toilet is and what it is for. He regressed a lot once his younger sibling arrived (I'm not a big boy, I'm a baby too! etc) but she is 12months old now, and he has just turned 3.

I just wondered if anyone had any tips for potty training a child with chronic diarrhoea, how to help them recognise when they need to poo, and how to handle the mess Shock

Have you been told to increase fat in the diet and reduce fibre?

Very belatedly wondering how you dealt with this issue@TimeforDuggee? I will have to face it in the next while I think Confused.
