My friend and I have both just used (and enjoyed) 'Oh Crap!' by Jamie Glowacki. It's easy to read, funny but also super helpful at giving a structure and loads of tips to the whole process. According to her we left it way too late with my DS but you could still apply her methods so I'd recommend it however old your DC is. My DD trained without much input from us, but we definitely needed some guidance with DS and it was exactly what we needed.

Thank you, I've bought this one! Bit nervous by the whole 'set aside a week' thing though. Our little one goes to childcare so we really only have two consecutive days where we could realistically stay at home 🤦‍♀️

We used 'Oh Crap' recently and it worked well. I took a Friday off work so we had a long weekend and we started then, and by the Sunday he'd gotten the gist of it. We then sent him to nursery without a nappy and lots of trousers (as the book says) and nursery have been great at carrying on training with us.

A long weekend is definitely more doable! Thank you
